BTS’ Jin makes a spectacular entry with The Astronaut on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Coldplay contributed to Jin’s single, which is receiving a tonne of fan love and climbing the charts all around the world.

Jin made the highest debut for a Korean solo artist on the Billboard Hot100 chart in the previous eight years. According to information released on November 8, the BTS member’s most recent solo release, the single album “The Astronaut” with a song by the same name, debuted on the American music chart at No.51.

After one week of global streaming, Jin’s The Astronaut climbed to the 51st position on the list for the charting week of November 12. The BTS ARMY, the group’s fan base, has shown overwhelming support for the song and music video since its release on October 28. It has also been noted that Coldplayers, or Coldplay fans, have shown appreciation for the BTS members’ efforts and the English band’s participation in the song. The lyrics of the song were revealed to have been written by Chris Martin and his son Moses, with Coldplay as a collective contributing the instruments.

The graphs
Since veteran artist PSY’s Hangover took the 26th place in 2014, Jin’s entry on the Hot100 at No. 51 is likewise the highest for any performer. In 2013, PSY’s Gentleman made its debut at position twelve. The Astronaut is now the third most successful song by a Korean solo artist. Fellow BTS members Jungkook, who debuted at No. 22 with ‘Left And Right,’ and SUGA, who debuted at No. 29 with ‘Girl of My Dreams,’ respectively, did so for their featured artist collaborations with Juice WRLD and Charlie Puth rather than for their own solo tracks. J-Hope had two entries on the list earlier in the year with “MORE” reaching No. 80 and “ARSON” reaching No. 96, while his joint effort with Becky G for “Chicken Noodle Soup” peaked at No. 81. For his OST “Christmas Tree,” member V, on the other hand, took the 79th position.

The Astronaut made a strong debut on a number of other charts, including the World and Digital Song Sales charts from Billboard, where it reached No. 1. On the Global Excl, it debuted at No. 6 as well. 10 on the Global 200 chart and at No. 10 on the U.S. chart.
