Madonna doesn’t frequently post family photos of her entire clan, but this Thanksgiving, she wanted the world to know how grateful she is for her children. On November 25, the 64-year-old shared a compilation of images from her family’s trip on Instagram, one of which included her and her six children. She also uploaded images of the kids DJing, a dish with a sheet of paper for guests to write their thanks on, and a photo of herself sipping wine. What I’m thankful for is in the caption of the post by the “Like a Prayer” singer.
The first image on Madonna’s photo carousel was of her with her oldest child, Lourdes Leon, 26, whom she shares with Carlos Leon. After that, she posted a family portrait of her entire brood, including Lourdes, Rocco (22), whose father is the actor Guy Ritchie, David (17), Mercy (16), and the 10-year-old twins Stella and Estere, who were all adopted by the pop singer and were all born in Malawi. She then posted many pictures of the youngsters playing with some DJ gear while hanging out with her and each other.
Even while the Grammy winner doesn’t often post images of her entire family, she’s never been afraid to express how much she adores being a mother. She even got her first tattoo in 2020 at the age of 62 in memory of her children. She posted a picture of the tattooing process at the time on Instagram, and she subsequently admitted her wrist tattoo includes the initials of each of her kids. She shared a matching tattoo that she had with David on Instagram in April along with some of her more recent ink.
Madonna has always wished for a large family and values her time with her children. The singer spoke candidly about her adoption process in a 2017 People interview. When Madonna first met her children, she remarked, “It’s unexplainable. “It’s comparable to asking, “Why do you fall in love with the individuals you do?” It only takes one look into someone’s eyes to feel their soul and be affected by them.”
