The cutest couple on the AMAs red carpet was probably Niecy Nash and Jessica Betts.
The couple, who will be married in August 2020, was present at the 50th annual American Music Awards on November 20 at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater. Even a small PDA was given to everyone in attendance (not in the style of Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, though, thankfully).
Nash opted for an elegant and seductive all-black outfit. She was dressed in a floor-length, figure-hugging gown with a cowl neck and mermaid hem. She wore her hair straight and smooth with a centre split, and teamed the dress with long black leather opera gloves.
Betts, a musician, sported a more vibrant ensemble. Her slacks had a red and black stripe down one side, and her green tuxedo had a curving pattern of dark green, yellow, and red. She wore a yellow shirt with a black collar underneath the jacket. Betts added gold sunglasses, earrings, and black patent leather loafers to complete the ensemble.
In 2020, Nash said of her marriage, “[My marriage] has absolutely nothing to do with gender and it has everything to do with her spirit.” The most wonderful soul I have ever encountered is [Betts].
I didn’t hide my sexuality my entire life, she continued. “I adore those I adore. I once had two marriages, and I still adore those folks. And I still adore this guy today. I accomplished what I set out to complete in my own time and manner. In light of this, my current choice of partner has nothing to do with my past self. It all depends on who I am right now.
